Fresno City Council puts cannabis tax on ballot

The Fresno City Council voted to put a cannabis business license tax on the November ballot for city voters, the Fresno Bee reported. The ballot measure will require two-thirds voter approval because 10% of the tax proceeds will be dedicated for special purposes. The council vote was 5-1 in favor of putting the issue to the voters, with Councilmen Steve Brandau opposed and Garry Bredefeld absent.
